Anna Merkel

Physical Therapist/Pilates – PT, DPT, PMA-CPT

A Jacksonville native, Anna Merkel received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from UNF in 2014. After passing the board exam she set off on a year long trip around the world with her husband. Upon returning from her travels she began her Comprehensive Pilates training at the Polestar Education Studio in Miami. Her areas of interest include Orthopedic and Women’s Health physical therapy.  When she isn’t at the studio she enjoys reading, cooking, and exploring the outdoors with her husband and their 75 pound pit bull boxer mix.

Patricia Hill

Massage Therapist – LMT

Featured in Natural Awakenings magazine and a regular guest host on Awakened Radio, Patricia’s greatest joy is helping others step into their spiritual brilliance.  She is also a Reiki practitioner, a licensed massage therapist and is certified in transformational breath work.

Jennifer Miles


Jennifer Miles has an artistic background as a professional vocalist, actress and dancer. She recently returned to academia and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Communications and is applying those skills to the management of Synergy Studio. She and her husband Peter live in Mandarin with their two sons and a giant golden doodle named Emmitt.

Barbara Chappell

Physical Therapist/Pilates – PT, PMA-CPT

Barbara Chappell has been a physical therapist since 1995 and is a certified Pilates practitioner (Polestar). Barbara swam competitively in college for UNC-Chapel Hill while earning her BA in Elementary Education. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two children.

Sonia Deville

Polestar Pilates Instructor – MFA
Sonia is a proud Cajun who relocated to Jacksonville from her private pilates practice in Lafayette, LA. She is a seasoned fitness industry professional with over 35 years in the field. Sonia is a Polestar Pilates Certified Practitioner, ACSM Certified Health and Fitness Specialist, GAVITY Master Trainer, TRX Instructor and is HKC Certified. She has worked extensively with the ballet and dance community and looks forward to expanding her impact in Jacksonville. She is also thrilled to live closer to her son Cody, who is also a Jacksonville resident.
